Greater Noida, March 13: A significant review meeting was held on Friday in Greater Noida to assess the effective implementation of the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Scheme. This initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government aims to connect youth with self-employment and entrepreneurship. The meeting was chaired by Rakesh Sachan, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Food and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom, and Textile Industries.
The meeting took place in the auditorium of the Greater Noida Development Authority, attended by officials from various departments and senior representatives from banks. During the session, Minister Rakesh Sachan reviewed the progress made in accordance with the targets assigned to different districts under the scheme and provided necessary directives to the officials.
He instructed all bank officials to prioritize the swift processing of pending applications in the remaining days of March 2026. This is to ensure that eligible youth can benefit from the scheme in a timely manner.
The minister made it clear that if any bank branch rejects an application without solid and sufficient reasons, strict action will be taken against the respective branch and its officials. He urged bank officials to encourage youth and provide loans to as many eligible beneficiaries as possible, playing an active role in achieving the scheme’s goals.
During the review, it was noted that some bank branches had made zero progress in loan distribution compared to the set targets. The minister expressed his displeasure, stating that the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Scheme is a crucial and public welfare initiative of the state government. Therefore, negligence or indifference at any level will not be tolerated, and accountability will be established for officials who fail to meet their targets.
Rakesh Sachan directed all relevant departments to establish better coordination with banks and conduct extensive special campaigns. Camps, public awareness programs, and guidance sessions should be organized in districts to inform youth about the scheme, encouraging more young people to pursue self-employment.
The minister highlighted that the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Scheme is one of the ambitious initiatives of the state government. It aims to connect approximately 100,000 youth with employment and self-employment each year.
For the financial year 2025-26, the target was set to benefit 150,000 youth, and so far, over 125,000 youth have been provided loans exceeding ₹5,150 crore.
The meeting was attended by Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the MSME Department, Sarveshwar Shukla, State Nodal Officer of the CM Youth Mission, Umesh Singh, Additional Commissioner of Industries, Gautam Buddh Nagar Deputy Commissioner of Industries Pankaj Nirvan, representatives from various banking institutions, and other officials from the industry department.
