Revenue Patwari Arrested for Accepting Bribe of ₹95,000 in Rajasthan

Jaipur, 20 August (Kiran News). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team of Sriganganagar-First has arrested Pankhilal Meena, Revenue Patwari of 6th Dhanur Tehsil, Srikaranpur, Sriganganagar district, while accepting a bribe of ₹95,000. This bribe was demanded as approximately 40 percent of the claim amount received for crop loss under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for Kharif 2024, relating to moong crop, on the agricultural land registered in the name of the complainant and his wife. The total claim amount was around ₹2.28 lakh.

Additional Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Smita Srivastava, stated that the ACB Sriganganagar-First received a complaint from the complainant regarding the matter. The complaint said that after the claim amount of approximately ₹2.28 lakh for crop loss under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for Kharif 2024 was deposited into the accounts of the complainant and his wife, Revenue Patwari Pankhilal Meena, who conducted the crop cutting for the said crop loss, demanded a bribe. After learning about the deposited claim, Meena told the complainant that the insurance claim was only possible because of his assistance, and thus, he demanded 50 percent of the claim amount as “kharcha-pani” (expenses/bribe).

On the complaint, the ACB team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Meena, conducted a trap and arrested Revenue Patwari Pankhilal Meena while accepting ₹95,000 as a bribe from the crop insurance claim amount of ₹2.28 lakh.
