Jaipur, August 11: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated on Tuesday that continuous dialogue between the government and society is essential for strengthening good governance and effectively implementing government schemes.
Addressing a dialogue program with retired officials from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, the Chief Minister emphasized that social justice is the essence of the state government’s policies and the foundation of welfare schemes.
He noted that the state government is working with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” resulting in unprecedented progress in uplifting marginalized sections of society.
The Chief Minister remarked that retired officials have played significant roles during their tenure, contributing immensely to bringing government schemes and policies to the grassroots level.
He stated, “Officials may retire from government service, but they never retire from social responsibilities.” He urged retired officials to utilize their administrative experience, grassroots understanding, and institutional knowledge to guide and mentor the youth.
The retired officials present at the program expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for better implementation of social security schemes, increased scholarship amounts, free coaching programs, and skill development initiatives. They also praised the government’s effective investigations and swift actions against atrocities on SC and ST communities.
Officials mentioned that former government officials are a vital source of inspiration for society, and their experiences and achievements can play a significant role in realizing the dream of a developed Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the most marginalized sections of society, inspired by the ideals of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
He highlighted that a development roadmap is being prepared based on local needs and potentials, with a special focus on strengthening basic amenities like water, electricity, roads, and health.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the Ram Jal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement reflect the state government’s strong will and commitment to a double-engine government.
He stated, “Our government has achieved a power generation capacity of 12,000 megawatts in just two and a half years.”
Bhajanlal Sharma mentioned that initiatives like “One District, One Product” and “Panch Gaurav” are being implemented to promote local products and create employment opportunities for the youth. He emphasized that the government is moving forward with the vision of “Prosperity through Cooperation.”
He added that expanding local storage and processing facilities is increasing farmers’ incomes while also creating additional job opportunities for the youth.
The state government is continuously working for the welfare of SC and ST communities. Under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ideal Village Development Scheme, development works for facilities like roads, drinking water, and waste management are being carried out in villages with populations of over 10,000.
According to the Chief Minister, around 425,000 students have benefited from the SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, while 430,000 students have benefited from the ST Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.
He also mentioned that beneficiaries are being taken on tours to significant sites associated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar under the Ambedkar Pilgrimage Scheme. Additionally, loans worth ₹887 crores have been distributed under the B.R. Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit and Tribal Entrepreneurship Promotion Scheme.
The Chief Minister noted that in Baran district, 14,636 eligible families have received assistance to fulfill their dream of owning a home under the PM-Janman Scheme.
He announced an increase in the monthly mess allowance for students in hostels and residential schools from ₹2,500 to ₹3,250, and for students in sports academies from ₹2,600 to ₹4,000.
The Chief Minister also shared that the honorarium for staff working at Mother-Baby Centers has been increased by 10 percent annually for the past two years, and orders have been issued to open 250 new Mother-Baby Centers.
This program saw participation from retired officials from IAS, IPS, IRS, administrative services, and other government services. Discussions focused on better implementation of welfare schemes, promoting social justice, and utilizing the experiences of retired officials in the state’s development and welfare programs.
