Real Madrid Signs 19-Year-Old Forward Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig

New Delhi, August 6: Amid the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Real Madrid has secured the signing of 19-year-old forward Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. The Ivorian talent has made a significant impact in the Bundesliga, showcasing his skills before joining the prestigious club. Diomande played a crucial role in helping Ivory Coast reach the Round of 32 in the tournament.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid will pay an initial fee of €125 million for Diomande. The contract includes easily attainable bonuses of €10 million and an additional €5 million. The announcement of this deal was delayed due to final negotiations between Madrid and Leipzig, which were completed last week. This transfer makes Diomande the most expensive player at Real Madrid, surpassing Jude Bellingham and Eden Hazard.

Diomande is the latest addition to Real Madrid’s ambitious recruitment drive this summer. The club has also brought in notable players such as Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries, and Carlos Soler during the current transfer window. Under the leadership of new manager José Mourinho, the club is focused on building a strong team to compete for the La Liga title.

The young footballer has rapidly advanced in his professional career. In 2024, he played at the DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, before joining the Spanish team Leganés. He transferred to Leipzig for €20 million in July 2025, where he played a vital role in securing a third-place finish in the Bundesliga that season. Diomande scored 12 goals and provided eight assists, earning him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award. This impressive performance paved the way for his move to Real Madrid.
