Rashid Alvi Criticizes Indias Foreign Policy Amidst Pakistans Mediation Efforts

New Delhi, April 11: Congress leader Rashid Alvi commented on the recent ceasefire between the U.S.-Israel and Iran, stating that the outcome of these discussions remains uncertain. He emphasized that Pakistan is currently playing a mediating role, a task he believes India should have undertaken.

Alvi pointed out that when the Prime Minister declared Israel as a “fatherland” and India as a “motherland,” it signaled a clear alignment with the U.S. and Israel. He noted that no journalists have received visas to Iran, highlighting a disconnect in India’s foreign policy. He expressed concern that the world is aware of the Prime Minister’s silence following the death of Iran’s leader, Khamenei.

He remarked on the tragic loss of children in Iran, asserting that the Prime Minister’s silence during these events has not gone unnoticed. Alvi warned that India’s foreign policy is becoming increasingly isolated, suggesting that decisions are being made under pressure from the U.S. and Israel. He believes India must strive for successful negotiations, as failure could have global repercussions, including adverse effects on the country itself.

Alvi also addressed rising fuel prices and the lines forming for gas cylinders, indicating that if negotiations do not succeed, the country’s situation could worsen, leading to economic instability.

Regarding Prime Minister Modi’s recent comments in West Bengal, he questioned the effectiveness of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) if no Hindus or Christians are migrating from Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Afghanistan. He criticized the government’s approach to the National Register of Citizens (NRC), noting that millions of names have been removed from voter lists in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
