Ramdas Athawale Advocates for Uniform Civil Code to Foster Trust

Bhubaneswar, June 24: Central Minister Ramdas Athawale has responded to the ongoing discussions regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Maharashtra. He stated that his party believes the UCC should be implemented across the country. Athawale noted that several states have already taken steps in this direction, and such legislation would promote equality and trust within society.

During a conversation with reporters, Athawale emphasized that discussions about the UCC are taking place in Maharashtra, while similar laws are already in effect in some other states. The implementation of the UCC could alleviate feelings of inequality regarding laws among different communities.

The central minister remarked, “My party believes that the Uniform Civil Code should be enacted, as the absence of such laws has led to increased disputes and distrust between Hindus and Muslims. Many people feel that different rules apply to different communities, which can be addressed through uniform legislation.”

Athawale also addressed reports concerning Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s family and their real estate companies purchasing several acres of land in Ujjain. He mentioned that he is not fully informed about the matter, but if any allegations have arisen, they could be based on complaints or political motives.

Regarding Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Athawale described him as an honest politician. He suggested that the accusations against Yadav might be part of an effort by opposition parties or certain leaders to tarnish his image. If there is a solid basis for an investigation, it should proceed, as it is an appropriate means to uncover the truth behind any allegations. However, he reiterated that he does not have complete information about the case.

He added that the allegations from the opposition may have political objectives, but this is merely his personal opinion and speculation. He stressed the importance of reviewing facts and investigation results before reaching any conclusions.
