Chandigarh, August 30: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Sunday that the state government is implementing the ‘Samriddhi’ scheme. This initiative aims to ensure timely and quality healthcare services for pregnant women, ultimately reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.
The Chief Minister stated that the government’s goal is to register every pregnant woman on a dedicated portal. This will allow for continuous monitoring of their health throughout pregnancy, delivery, and the postpartum period.
The ‘Samriddhi’ portal will connect a state-level command center and a 102 maternal and child health call center through modern technology. This integrated system will enhance healthcare services for pregnant women, facilitate timely identification of high-risk pregnancies, and ensure immediate referrals to larger health centers when necessary.
Saini emphasized that registration will be mandatory for every pregnant woman, providing them with a unique identification. This will secure all health information related to their pregnancy in one place.
The system will include women receiving treatment in both government and private hospitals, as well as medical colleges. Regardless of where a woman receives care, her essential health information will be updated on the portal through her identification, creating a complete digital record of her pregnancy.
Under the ‘Samriddhi’ system, high-risk pregnancies will be identified promptly. Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), doctors, and health officials will receive timely alerts regarding necessary check-ups, impending deliveries, follow-ups, and other services.
Regular contact will be maintained with women identified as having high-risk pregnancies. According to an official statement, women with normal pregnancies will be contacted every three months, while those with high-risk pregnancies will be monitored more frequently. As the delivery date approaches, the frequency of contact and monitoring will increase to ensure immediate assistance in emergencies.
The Chief Minister also announced the establishment of a ‘102 Maternal and Child Health Call Center’ at the state level. Trained nurses will provide health advice to pregnant women, identify risks, and assist them in reaching appropriate health centers when needed.
If a high-risk condition is identified through the call center, this information will be promptly shared with the command center and updated on the ‘Samriddhi’ portal.
