Tottenham Hotspur Signs Iliman Ndiaye as Richarlison Prepares to Return to Everton

New Delhi, August 30: Tottenham Hotspur has finalized a deal to sign winger Iliman Ndiaye from Everton. Meanwhile, forward Richarlison is set to return to Everton.

These transfers are separate and not interconnected. Ndiaye’s arrival will strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s squad as he joins new players Omar Marmoush and Savinho. According to a report from ‘The Athletic’, Spurs have reached an agreement for the Senegalese winger, whose current contract with Everton was for three years. In the meantime, Spurs’ manager has indicated that Richarlison is free to leave the club.

Following a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle, De Zerbi commented, “Richarlison, I don’t know. He has expressed his desire to leave multiple times. Danso came to me two days ago and said he wanted to go. Pep Sarr also mentioned the same, but he sustained a minor injury. He is almost ready for training.”

Additionally, Manchester City had shown interest in signing Iliman Ndiaye from Everton. However, it now appears that City may pursue Liverpool’s Dutch forward Cody Gakpo instead. Reports suggest that Gakpo has also expressed interest in joining Enzo Maresca’s team, increasing the likelihood of his transfer.

Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 for £15 million. He has played 73 matches for the club, scoring 17 goals. Brazilian player Richarlison transferred to Spurs from Everton in 2022 for £60 million, having played 134 matches and netted 32 goals for Tottenham.

Recently, Spurs also signed Brazilian forward Savinho, who has been on their radar since last summer. Discussing his transfer, Savinho stated that joining Spurs as the transfer window deadline approaches is a fantastic opportunity.

In a statement from Spurs, Savinho expressed, “It took a little time, but I am very happy to be here. This is a great chance to join a fantastic club with one of the best managers in the world. As soon as I spoke with the head coach, I knew I had to come here. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I am confident we can achieve that as a team.”
