Madhya Pradesh Officials to Study Gujarats Dairy Revitalization Scheme

Bhopal, June 24: Officials from Madhya Pradesh are set to visit Banaskantha, Gujarat, to study the state’s Dairy Revitalization Scheme. This initiative aims to enhance benefits for the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Dairy Animal Distribution Scheme in Madhya Pradesh. Governor Mangubhai Patel has directed the officials to undertake this study.

During a discussion with officials from the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department at Lok Bhavan, Governor Patel emphasized the need to establish a robust system for milk collection and marketing for the beneficiaries of the dairy scheme. He highlighted the importance of developing a transportation system to ensure fair prices for the milk produced by the beneficiaries. The officials were advised to consider the availability of necessary vehicles through departmental or third-party coordination.

Governor Patel described the Chief Minister’s Dairy Animal Distribution Scheme as a vital initiative for the nutrition and sustainable livelihood of the ultra-poor. He stressed that the distribution method should prioritize the most impoverished, particularly focusing on marginalized tribes such as Baiga, Bharia, and Sahariya.

He also urged the program to provide information on livestock management and income enhancement through women beneficiaries involved in the animal distribution program. Drawing from the experiences of Gujarat’s Dairy Revitalization Scheme in tribal regions, he suggested that the beneficiaries should be educated on ensuring milk availability for their children.

The department has instructed two female and two male officials to travel to Gujarat to study the dairy industry in Banaskantha.

Additionally, Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Umakant Umraw, informed the Governor that the department is providing nutritional information to farmers and livestock owners via mobile platforms. To ensure that animals receive scientifically formulated feed, the department has developed the Goras mobile app, which is user-friendly and available in simple Hindi. Notably, the app does not require internet access.
