Mumbai, March 29: Rakesh Bedi’s remarkable performance in the film ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ directed by Aditya Dhar, is receiving widespread acclaim. His portrayal of the character Jameel Jalali has captured the hearts of both the public and fellow stars. Among those praising Bedi is filmmaker and social activist Ashok Pandit.
Pandit took to Instagram to congratulate his longtime friend and co-actor Rakesh Bedi with an emotional post. He commended Bedi’s impressive performance alongside Ranveer Singh in ‘Dhurandhar 2,’ playfully referring to it as hitting a “six outside the stadium.” Pandit wrote, “Dear Raku (as I fondly call Rakesh), first of all, congratulations on hitting a six outside the stadium under the captaincy of master director Aditya Dhar.”
Reflecting on Bedi’s extensive film career, Pandit noted that he has closely witnessed his success since the day he arrived in Mumbai from FTII. Sharing experiences from working together in films like ‘Chashme Buddoor’ and ‘Saath Saath,’ as well as TV shows like ‘Ye Jo Hai Zindagi’ and ‘Filmi Chakkar,’ Pandit emphasized that Bedi has always made his presence felt in every film, regardless of the number of scenes. He also praised Bedi’s stage performances and writing skills.
Pandit reminisced about Bedi’s positivity, smile, warm hugs, and laughter, stating that his mantra has always been to work with positivity and a smile. He expressed, “Somewhere in my heart, I always felt you would reach the heights where you would amaze the audience with your talent. That day has come; today, the media is buzzing about the film starring Ranveer Singh and Rakesh Bedi.” Additionally, Pandit extended his congratulations to Bedi’s wife, Aradhana, and daughters, Baby and Riddhima.
He commended Bedi’s simplicity, dedication, passion, and integrity towards his profession, suggesting that a whole book could be written about these qualities. He also thanked director Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar, and Yami Gautam.
In response to Pandit’s heartfelt post, Rakesh Bedi remarked, “Dear Ashok, we are very old friends. I will never forget your mother’s affectionate hugs and blessings.”
Bedi acknowledged the rewards of hard work and honesty, while also remembering the support of friends like Ashok Pandit.
