Rajpal Yadav Faces Financial Troubles as Bank Seizes Properties for Loan Recovery

Mumbai, August 6: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav’s troubles continue to escalate. The Central Bank of India has intensified its loan recovery process against the actor, who is already facing legal action over a bounced check. The bank has affixed notices on two of Yadav’s properties in Shahjahanpur, marking them for auction. According to the bank, the actor owes a substantial amount of money, prompting this action.

Reports indicate that the Mumbai branch of the Central Bank of India has issued auction notices on Yadav’s properties located in Shahjahanpur. Bank records reveal that he has an outstanding loan of ₹16.61 crore. The bank has initiated the process of seizing his mortgaged properties for recovery.

The properties being auctioned include a city property and farmland with a house in a village. The bank has set a reserve price of ₹3.19 crore for both properties. According to the bank’s auction process, the e-auction is scheduled for September 9, 2026.

It is reported that Rajpal Yadav took this loan to finance his film “Ata Pata Lappa,” which unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. Consequently, he failed to make timely payments on the loan, leading to an accumulation of interest and an outstanding amount exceeding ₹16 crore.

When securing the loan, Yadav also mortgaged properties belonging to his wife, Radha Yadav, and his mother, Godavari Yadav, as guarantees. The bank is now acting on this basis to recover the dues. Additionally, it is reported that the bank is also pursuing recovery on some of Yadav’s other properties located in Mumbai.

Previously, the Delhi High Court had convicted Rajpal Yadav in a check bounce case, sentencing him to three months in prison.
