Raza Murad Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Nana Patekar, Remembers Him as a True King of Hearts
Actor Raza Murad mourns the loss of Nana Patekar, praising his generous spirit and unique personality in a touching tribute.

Mumbai, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Actor Raza Murad expressed his sorrow over the passing of fellow actor Nana Patekar, reflecting on his remarkable character and legacy. Murad revealed that he would visit Patekar’s home every year during Ganesh Chaturthi, but this year, he was unable to do so.
In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Murad stated, “Today is an incredibly sad day as Nana Patekar has left us. He was a lion both in front of and behind the camera. He lived his life like a lion, and while his words could be tough, his heart was very soft. He dedicated 90 percent of his earnings to helping those in need. He was a king of hearts and a true ascetic.”
Murad lamented that Patekar’s departure is a significant loss for the film industry. “This is a huge loss for us that can never be filled. It leaves one feeling helpless. He lived life on his own terms, worked according to his own principles, and was never driven by greed for money. Many would approach him with scripts offering millions, but if he didn’t like the script, he would refuse the work. He never sought wealth for himself.”
He added, “He preferred wearing simple clothes and lived in a modest home. He could have chosen to live in a lavish mansion, but he remained true to his heart. Despite his fame, respect, and wealth, it never changed him. He was a very dear friend of mine. I would visit him every Ganesh Chaturthi, but this year I couldn’t because he had the idol in Pune. However, we stayed in touch over the phone. He will always remain in our hearts.”
