Rajnath Singh: Youth Are the Main Drivers of Developed India Mission

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday emphasised that the youth are the key drivers of India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

Addressing the Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue, Rajnath Singh urged young people to embrace multidisciplinary education. He highlighted the importance of staying updated with rapid technological advancements, particularly in fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and space research.

Continuous Learning and Big Dreams

The Defence Minister stressed that learning is a lifelong process. He encouraged the youth to learn from the latest methods, their mistakes, and most importantly, from the experiences of others. Rajnath Singh advised them to dream big but cautioned against letting those dreams become burdens.

Engagement with Uttar Pradesh Youth

During the event held at Delhi Cantonment, Rajnath Singh interacted with 78 enthusiastic young participants from Uttar Pradesh. These youths are part of the Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue 2026, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from January 10 to 12 in New Delhi.

The Defence Minister appreciated the accomplishments of young leaders across various sectors. He expressed confidence that their energy, ambitions, and innovative capabilities are propelling the country towards the goal of a developed India.

Facing Challenges with Courage

Rajnath Singh described challenges not as exceptions but as an inherent part of life. He emphasised that tough times reveal a person’s true character. While it is easy to remain calm when things go as planned, it is criticism and failure that test one’s abilities and determine future direction.

He clarified that not being afraid does not mean treating problems lightly. Instead, it means confronting them with courage, intelligence, and confidence. The Defence Minister urged young people to view challenges not as burdens but as opportunities to recognize and enhance their capabilities and strengthen their character.

The dialogue was also attended by senior officials including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, and Secretary (Ex-Servicemen Welfare) Sukriti Likhi.
