Lucknow, July 15: Om Prakash Rajbhar, the national president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, has once again launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav. Rajbhar accused the SP of instigating ethnic and communal violence following their return to power in 2012, stating that law and order in Uttar Pradesh completely deteriorated during that period. He asserted that the SP government equated to pushing the state into chaos and violence.
In a post on the social media platform X, Rajbhar criticized Akhilesh Yadav, saying, “SP’s ethnic violence: Part-2. Akhileshji, unfortunately, your ascent to Chief Minister in 2012, thanks to your father, turned Uttar Pradesh into West Bengal.” He recalled the events of 2012, highlighting that after Yadav’s election victory, his unruly supporters unleashed a wave of ethnic and religious violence across the state, transforming Uttar Pradesh into a state similar to West Bengal.
Rajbhar noted that within 36 hours of the SP’s victory, Yadav’s supporters created chaos in every district, but the incidents of arson in nine districts, particularly in villages of backward and Dalit communities, are unforgettable. He emphasized that this violence resulted in deaths, while the police remained helpless spectators. He mentioned that a rice mill belonging to a former BSP minister, who lost the election from the Akbarpur assembly seat in Ambedkarnagar, was set ablaze during this unrest. “Do you remember?” he questioned.
Rajbhar described the plight of the minister, who was desperately trying to extinguish the fire in his village, while flames from his rice mill reached the Tehsil intersection in Akbarpur. He remarked on the helplessness of the police in Ambedkarnagar, caught in indecision about how to respond. “This is why I say, the arrival of the SP means turning Uttar Pradesh into West Bengal,” he concluded.
