Ambedkar Nagar, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : As the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections of 2027 approach, political tensions are rising. Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister in the UP government, has made pointed remarks about the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress. He accused them of undermining Muslim candidates, stating that whenever a Muslim runs for office, a candidate from the Yadav community is fielded to suppress their chances.
In a recent press interaction, Rajbhar backed Asaduddin Owaisi’s statements, asserting that leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi prioritize the advancement of their own communities while sidelining Muslim voters. He claimed that both parties benefit from keeping Muslims in a subordinate position, likening them to two sides of the same coin. According to Rajbhar, when Muslims support these parties, they only advance their own caste agendas, often at the cost of communal harmony.
Rajbhar highlighted that the Samajwadi Party has formed the government four times with Muslim support but has never considered appointing a Muslim chief minister. He criticized Akhilesh Yadav for promoting his own community while neglecting Muslim interests. Similarly, he noted that Congress has been caught in its own strategies, failing to address the needs of the Muslim populace.
In a recent rally in Bahraich, Owaisi emphasized that Muslims should not be treated as a mere vote bank, insisting on their right to political representation. He announced that where the SP does not field Muslim candidates, his party would step in.
Commenting on ongoing protests related to the SIR, Rajbhar stated that the public has rejected the opposition, which is now blaming the election commission for their failures. He recalled that before 2014, Congress dominated the political landscape, and it was during this time that Narendra Modi gained significant public support.
Regarding the alliance between SP and Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Rajbhar remarked that they are merely squabbling over seat allocations while attempting to deceive the electorate. He concluded by asserting that the public is well aware of their tactics.
