Mumbai, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : BJP legislator Ram Kadam has responded to recent protests led by the Thackeray brothers, as well as demonstrations by MPSC students, and commented on Digvijaya Singh’s planned march in Uttar Pradesh. Kadam accused Singh of consistently attempting to defame Hinduism.
Kadam stated, “Digvijaya Singh is the same person who has always tried to tarnish the image of Hindus. He is the one who linked our sacred saffron flag to terrorism. When the idol of Ram Lalla was consecrated in Ayodhya, he raised questions about its form. He has consistently opposed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, hoping that decisions would not favor Hindus, and if they did, they would come late. Such cruel and anti-Hindu thoughts have been prevalent among Congress leaders, and they still are.”
Addressing the Thackeray brothers’ recent protest, Kadam criticized the event as a mere spectacle. “Was it a genuine protest or a fancy dress competition? There were people dressed as Gabbar Singh, and others pretending to be election commissioners. It seemed like a contest to see who could tell the biggest lies. Just 11 months ago, these same people took to the streets demanding the removal of duplicate names from the voter list. Now, they seem to have forgotten their own demands. The EVMs they are now criticizing were introduced during Congress’s rule. Ironically, Uddhav Thackeray won elections in the municipal corporation for 30 years using those same EVMs.”
Meanwhile, MPSC students have been protesting in various parts of Maharashtra, including Pune and Nagpur, against paper leaks, recruitment delays, and changes to exam patterns. Kadam expressed support for the students, claiming, “We stand with the MPSC students, and all their demands have been accepted by the Maharashtra government. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has agreed to their requests. If leaders from Sharad Pawar’s faction are using these students to further their petty political agendas, it is unfortunate. The rights the students are demanding cannot be met by the Maharashtra government; they belong to the President. This movement is not about the students, but rather about Sharad Pawar’s faction.”
