Mumbai, June 21: Renowned actor Rajat Bedi recently opened up in an interview about his childhood, memories of his father, and his family’s cinematic legacy. He shared that the pain of losing his father at a young age still lingers, shaping him into a stronger and more emotional person today.
In the interview, Bedi expressed, “My father’s presence in my life was brief. I lost him when I was just nine years old. At such a young age, I didn’t fully grasp the importance of a father. However, as I grew older and saw other children with their fathers, I began to feel a void in my life. This realization gradually sank in, highlighting how essential a father’s love is.”
He added, “Over time, I have felt more strongly that even though my father is no longer with us, his blessings are always with me. Whenever I face difficulties or setbacks, I feel as if my father is invisibly supporting me, giving me the strength to move forward. He helps me overcome every challenge.”
Reflecting on his childhood memories, he shared, “The time I spent with my father was limited, but it was incredibly special. Sometimes, I would accompany him on shoots, allowing us to share precious moments. He would hug me affectionately and play with me. Although he was quite busy as a prominent producer and director in the film industry, those brief moments remain fresh in my heart.”
Rajat Bedi also elaborated on his family’s artistic and literary heritage. He stated, “My family has been highly respected in the world of art and cinema. My grandfather, Rajinder Singh Bedi, was a renowned Urdu literary figure who made significant contributions to Indian literature and collaborated with many great writers and filmmakers.”
He continued, “My father, Narendra Bedi, was also a well-known director in the film industry. Throughout his career, he worked with many big stars and delivered memorable films to Hindi cinema. My family has always valued hard work and art, and I am now striving to carry forward that legacy. For me, this is not just a profession but also a responsibility to uphold my family’s name and work.”
