Jaipur, June 24: Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore sharply criticized former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday. This response came after Gehlot’s comments regarding the alleged ‘sale’ of legislators and MPs. Rathore questioned why Gehlot did not take action against such legislators during his tenure.
Rathore also referenced Gehlot’s controversial remarks, where he reportedly referred to public representatives as ‘horses, donkeys, buffaloes, and goats.’ He challenged Gehlot, asking if these representatives were indeed ‘sold,’ why no action was taken against them during his time in office.
The BJP leader emphasized that the people of Rajasthan are well aware that Gehlot has primarily focused on appeasing his political leadership and advancing his son’s political career. Meanwhile, he has neglected pressing public issues, development, and basic infrastructure.
Rathore further stated that if Gehlot had prioritized the welfare of the state and its citizens over pleasing his political mentors, his home district would not still be struggling with a lack of basic amenities.
Despite his long tenure, Rathore noted that many expectations related to development remain unfulfilled. He accused Gehlot of engaging in politics aimed at proving his significance to the Gandhi family and gaining political advantage.
Rathore asserted that in his attempts to maintain political relevance, Gehlot often makes irresponsible statements. He claimed that Gehlot has spent his three terms focusing more on pleasing the Gandhi family than on the development and welfare of Rajasthan.
He concluded by stating that the people of Rajasthan now support politics based on development, good governance, and accountability, having recognized the opportunistic politics of Congress leaders. Rathore expressed confidence that the public will continue to reject such political maneuvers and support the BJP’s development-oriented governance model in the future.
