Rajasthans Budget Surpasses Previous Government by 41 Percent, Says CM Sharma

Jaipur, February 28: In response to discussions on the Finance and Appropriation Bill in the Rajasthan Assembly, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that the state’s economy is rapidly progressing due to the welfare policies and significant economic reforms implemented by his government.

He emphasized that the state government’s approach focuses on solutions and development rather than conflict.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajasthan is consistently moving towards becoming a developed state through innovation, reforms, and continuous efforts.

Sharma further mentioned that Rajasthan plays a crucial role as a development engine in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.

He projected that the per capita income in Rajasthan is expected to reach ₹2,02,349 in 2026-27, surpassing the ₹2 lakh mark for the first time. This reflects an increase of approximately 21.15 percent from ₹1,67,027 in 2023-24.

The progress in industry, agriculture, and the service sector is clearly visible, he noted.

The total state budget for 2026-27 is ₹6,10,956 crore, which is about 41 percent higher than the budget for 2023-24.

Sharma indicated that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is projected to reach ₹21,52,100 crore in 2026-27, marking an increase of over 41 percent compared to 2023-24.

He highlighted that while the previous Congress-led state government recorded a GSDP growth of ₹6,10,544 crore over five years, the current BJP government estimates an increase of over ₹6.3 lakh crore in just two years.

The average growth rate during the previous Congress government was 10.92 percent, which has risen to 12.25 percent under the current BJP administration.

He added, “The growth rate at stable prices has increased from 5.3 percent to 8.7 percent. The revenue collection for 2026-27 is estimated at ₹3,25,740 crore, reflecting a 14.08 percent increase from the previous year and nearly 60 percent higher than the last year of the Congress-led state government.”
