Waris Pathan Calls for Eradication of Naxalism and Terrorism

Mumbai, April 2: AIMIM leader Waris Pathan has responded to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements on Naxalism, asserting that both Naxalism and terrorism must be eradicated completely.

In a conversation in Mumbai, Pathan expressed his personal view that Naxalism and terrorism should be eliminated at their roots. He emphasized the need to also put an end to lawlessness.

He criticized groups like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal for targeting innocent Muslims, accusing them of various crimes, including lynching. Pathan stated that such acts must be eradicated from the country. He stressed that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands, and those who consider themselves as vigilantes and take lives of innocent people are no different from terrorists and Naxalites. He urged the Home Minister to take strict action against these individuals.

Pathan further stated that those who take the law into their own hands and disregard the administration must face stringent legal consequences. He reiterated the demand for a robust law against mob lynching to prevent the killings of innocent Muslims. He called for strict laws against those who pose a threat to the country’s secularism.

On the topic of the resumption of oil trade between Iran and India, Pathan remarked that any step beneficial for the country is welcome. However, he noted the continuous rise in LPG prices, forcing people to leave cities for villages. He warned that if conflicts in the Middle East persist, LPG prices may rise even further in the coming days.

He stated that war is not a solution to any problem, yet the increase in LPG prices and shortages are causing significant distress to the public. Long queues at petrol stations have become common, and dining out has also become more expensive. Pathan urged the government to clarify how long citizens will have to endure such challenges.
