Guwahati, March 31: In an exciting start to IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Monday. This win places RR alongside Punjab Kings as the second most successful team against CSK in IPL history, with both teams having achieved 16 victories.
Mumbai Indians (MI) hold the record for the most wins against CSK, having triumphed in 21 matches. Both MI and CSK are the league’s most successful franchises, each having won the title five times.
Following RR and Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ranks third with 13 wins against CSK. Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders follow, with 12 and 11 victories, respectively.
In the match, CSK lost the toss and batted first, managing to score only 127 runs in 19.4 overs. Jamie Overton was the top scorer for CSK, making 43 runs.
For Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer was impressive, taking 2 wickets for just 19 runs in 4 overs. Nandre Burger also claimed 2 wickets, conceding 26 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets for 18 runs. Bridjesh Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi each contributed with a wicket.
RR chased down the target in 12.1 overs, finishing at 128 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the standout performer, scoring 52 runs off just 17 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten at 38 runs off 36 balls.
