Jaipur, July 17: Rajasthan’s opposition leader, Tikaram Julie, has raised concerns regarding irregularities in grants for cows, the ongoing healthcare crisis, and the Vande Mataram Bill.
In an interview with a news agency on Friday, Julie highlighted the misuse of funds allocated for cow welfare. He stated, “I have come across cases where fake cows were presented to claim grants in gaushalas (cow shelters). This issue has resurfaced, and the government must take notice. If no action is taken, it raises questions about what the government is doing. While cows are dying, some individuals are attempting to fraudulently obtain grants, which is unacceptable.”
Julie called for a thorough investigation into the matter. He noted that many gaushalas are not receiving timely payments. “There are honest individuals working diligently, and it is crucial for the government to identify and support them. Unfortunately, those who are working honestly are not receiving any financial assistance. I urge that honest workers receive support, while strict action should be taken against fraudsters.”
He also commented on the Vande Mataram Bill, stating that the national anthem and song are part of our moral duties and deserve respect. “Such provisions should exist, and there should be no negligence in this regard.”
Additionally, Julie addressed irregularities within the state’s health department. He remarked, “The health department is in shambles, which is not a new issue. Just today, two major news stories emerged. The bus designated for breast cancer screenings is not being utilized, wasting millions. There have even been reports of lights going out during surgeries. This is a serious matter. If these individuals are indifferent to death, what will they care about other issues? There are claims that patients are being given fake injections. What could be worse than this? The government is not displaying the seriousness required in this situation.”
Julie pointed out ongoing criticisms of the health department, including issues with ambulance services and timely salary payments for drivers. “In every aspect, this government has proven to be ineffective. Whether it’s the deaths of children due to cough syrup or other continuous issues, questions are being raised, yet the government remains unresponsive.”
He also mentioned the upcoming visit of the Congress party’s in-charge for Rajasthan, who will review various organizational activities during a two-day tour.
