Rain Expected in Delhi-NCR Over the Next Three Days

New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Weather forecasts from the Meteorological Department indicate that light to moderate rain is expected in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region starting Saturday and lasting for the next three days. This change in weather will also bring a drop in maximum temperatures.

The rain, accompanied by strong winds, has already led to a significant improvement in air quality across the region, with the air now classified as being in the ‘green zone.’ According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on September 12 is projected to reach 31 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25 degrees. Humidity levels are expected to range between 85 and 55 percent, with overcast skies and moderate rainfall likely.

On September 13, temperatures may rise slightly to a maximum of 32 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees, while humidity could remain high at around 90 percent. Cloud cover and light rain are also expected on this day. The forecast for September 14 suggests a maximum temperature of 31 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees. By September 15, temperatures could dip further to around 24 degrees, with chances of light rain continuing.

Temperatures on September 16 are expected to hover between 31 and 25 degrees, with light rain anticipated. However, a slight improvement in weather conditions is expected on September 17, with maximum temperatures rising to 33 degrees and a minimum of 25 degrees, although the likelihood of rain will decrease.

The impact of the rain and favorable weather conditions on air quality is evident. According to data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, air quality in most areas of the capital is rated as ‘satisfactory’ to ‘good.’ In various neighborhoods, the Air Quality Index (AQI) readings are as follows: Ashok Vihar at 98, Alipur at 87, Anand Vihar at 83, Burari Crossing at 86, Commonwealth Sports Complex at 82, CRRI Mathura Road at 70, Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range at 71, Aya Nagar at 79, and Chandni Chowk at 73.

Noida is also experiencing improved air quality, with an AQI of 70 in Sector 62 and 77 in Sector 1. However, readings of 122 in Sector 125 and 116 in Sector 116 fall into the moderate range. In Ghaziabad, the air quality is the best, with AQI levels recorded at 43 in Govindpuram, 53 in Indirapuram, 81 in Sanjay Nagar, 86 in Vasundhara, and 95 in Ved Vihar-Loni. However, Loni reported an AQI of 113, which is considered moderate.
