Mumbai, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : Radhika Apte, a prominent actress known for her strong performances, recently recounted a startling incident from a film shoot. The actress, who has carved a niche for herself without the backing of a major film family, revealed that she slapped a co-star who inappropriately touched her during filming.

Born on September 7, 1985, in Pune, Maharashtra, Apte has always been inclined towards the arts. She trained in Kathak for about eight years and became involved in theater, where she honed her acting skills.

Her film career began in 2005 with “Wow! Life Ho To Aisi!” Since then, she has taken on a variety of roles, gaining critical acclaim for her performance in the 2009 Bengali film “Antahin.” She continued to expand her repertoire with films like “Rakta Charitra,” “Shor in the City,” and the Tamil movie “Dhoni.” Although she faced challenges in landing major roles early on, her dedication and talent helped her establish a strong foothold in the industry.

The year 2015 marked a turning point for Apte, with standout roles in “Badlapur” and “Hunterrr.” She further showcased her versatility in films like “Manjhi: The Mountain Man,” “Phobia,” and “Parched,” the latter earning her the Best Actress award at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.

Apte also made significant strides in the digital space, starring in popular projects such as “Lust Stories,” “Sacred Games,” and “Ghoul.” Her performance in “Lust Stories” garnered her a nomination for Best Actress at the International Emmy Awards, making her the first Indian actress to achieve this honor.

In a candid interview, Apte shared the surprising incident during the shooting of a Tamil film. A co-star, whom she barely knew, began tickling her feet, an action she found completely unacceptable. Without hesitation, she slapped him, making it clear that such behavior was unwelcome.
