Punjab Minister Aman Arora Highlights Serious LPG Crisis Amidst Political Tensions

Mohali, March 13: The LPG crisis has sparked a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition in Punjab. While the central government assures the public that there is no shortage of gas, opposition leaders argue that there is a significant gap between the government’s words and actions. Punjab Minister Aman Arora stated that the ground reality is quite serious, and the government is turning a blind eye to the situation.

During a media interaction in Mohali, Minister Arora pointed out that people are standing in long queues everywhere to obtain gas cylinders. He questioned the effectiveness of mere statements from Union Minister Hardeep Puri, emphasizing that actions speak louder than words. “The ground reality is severe. The government cannot ignore this issue,” he asserted. Arora warned that the problem is escalating and requires serious attention.

He raised concerns about why people are queuing for gas cylinders if there truly is no issue. He referenced an advisory issued by the Petroleum Ministry, which suggested that LPG cylinders, previously bookable every 21 days, can now only be booked after 25 days. “Why is this change occurring if there is no problem? Your actions contradict your statements,” he remarked.

Regarding the Progressive Punjab Summit, Minister Arora described it as one of the most significant industrial policies introduced by the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and with the vision and support of Arvind Kejriwal. He believes that consulting industries about their needs will yield the best results.

The Punjab government and the Department of Industry have formed several sector-specific committees, including textiles, bicycle parts, sports equipment, and real estate, to gather input on what the government can provide. “When policies are developed after consulting industries, better outcomes can be expected. This enthusiasm is evident in the upcoming investor summit,” he noted.

Minister Arora claimed that this summit is set to be the largest investor event, promising job opportunities for thousands of young people.
