Protests Erupt in Mumbai Over Ongoing US-Israel-Iran Conflict

Mumbai, March 3: Protests have erupted in various parts of Mumbai due to the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. In response, security around the embassies of the US, Israel, and Iran has been heightened. The Mumbai police are on high alert, instructing all officers to remain vigilant.

Authorities have issued warnings regarding potential protests in support of or against Iran, cautioning that such demonstrations could lead to riots and arson. The police emphasize the need for increased vigilance in light of these threats. Following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in an attack by US-Israeli forces, the Iranian government has declared a 40-day mourning period.

In India, protests have also been reported in several locations following Khamenei’s death. Reactions have poured in, including a statement from Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, who criticized the misinformation surrounding Iran. He recalled that similar claims were made during the Iraq invasion, which resulted in devastation without finding any weapons of mass destruction.

Maulana Kalbe Jawwad further stated that accusations against Iran regarding nuclear weapons are unfounded, echoing the same warnings that were previously dismissed.

On Monday, senior Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi condemned the killing of the 86-year-old Supreme Leader and his family, calling it a grave injustice. Speaking to the media in Mumbai, he questioned whether Prime Minister Modi was aware of the impending conflict during his visit to Israel.

Azmi urged the central government to intervene and attempt to halt the ongoing violence in Iran, warning that India could also face significant repercussions from the conflict.
