Hazaribagh, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Tensions have escalated in Hazaribagh regarding alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations. Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Raghuvar Das led a protest on Sunday, calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter and the withdrawal of cases against protesting students.
Das accused the state government of suppressing the student movement. Speaking to reporters, he stated, “The students of Jharkhand have enhanced the state’s dignity through their peaceful protests, yet the Jharkhand government has betrayed their trust by tarnishing that peaceful movement.”
He alleged that during a symbolic effigy procession, activists from the JMM attacked the students. Das also claimed that there were instances of misconduct against female students. He remarked, “The atrocities occurring against children in Jharkhand are orchestrated at the behest of Rahul Gandhi.”
The BJP leader questioned the employment promises made by the Hemant Soren government. He noted, “The JMM and Congress accuse the BJP of politicizing the issue. I want to ask CM Soren and the JMM about their electoral promise made in the 2019 assembly elections to provide jobs to five lakh people within a year and to offer unemployment benefits until jobs are secured. Yet, in these years, whenever recruitment is announced, exams are canceled, papers leak, or jobs are sold.”
Das held CM Hemant Soren and the Congress-RJD alliance responsible for the current student protests. He claimed that the police crackdown on students was executed at the direction of Rahul Gandhi.
He pointed out that while Gandhi initially supported the movement, he distanced himself when students faced police violence and were subjected to false charges. Das stated, “Rahul Gandhi is responsible for all these actions; false cases were filed against students under his instructions, and they were beaten. The BJP strongly condemns this act. The state government should withdraw these false cases and refer the entire matter to the central government. If the government has no involvement in the scam, they should refer this case to the CBI.”
