Hyderabad, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : N. Ramchandra Rao, the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, has launched a sharp critique against the ‘India Block’ and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi. He claims that the opposition is devoid of any significant issues to challenge the NDA government, leading them to raise communal concerns instead.
In a statement to the press, Rao stated, “The ‘India’ alliance and its partners have no substantial issues left to fight against the NDA government. Consequently, they are attempting to bring communal issues to the forefront.” He pointed out that leaders like Shahabuddin and Owaisi are arguing that Muslim representation in Parliament and other elected bodies has diminished. Rao believes that this tactic is aimed at rallying their supporters.
He remarked, “Such an attitude has never been seen in this country before. Prime Minister Modi has always believed in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ (Together with all, development for all). He has initiated various programs for minorities. Yet, some Muslim leaders are undermining the interests of mainstream Muslims by positioning themselves as the sole representatives of the entire Muslim community.”
Rao emphasized that this trend is unprecedented. He reiterated Modi’s commitment to inclusivity and highlighted that the Prime Minister has addressed issues concerning minorities. However, he accused certain Muslim leaders of jeopardizing the interests of ordinary Muslims for the sake of vote bank politics.
He further mentioned that in states like Uttar Pradesh, many Muslims are now voting for the BJP. In areas where Muslims are in the majority, the BJP is winning seats, indicating a growing trust in the party and the NDA government. Rao asserted that this shift is prompting Muslim leaders to raise concerns about representation in Parliament and elected institutions.
In a lighter note, the Telangana BJP president congratulated the Indian cricket team for their victory against the West Indies. He praised the team’s performance, noting that they successfully chased down a target of 405 runs in 50 overs, marking a significant win for Indian cricket. Rao expressed confidence that the team would continue to excel in the series.
