Priyanka Chaturvedi Criticizes BJPs Agenda Amid Ongoing Middle East Conflict

New Delhi, March 25: In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Indian government has convened an all-party meeting. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed her concerns regarding the delay in calling this meeting. She questioned the government’s intentions behind it.

Chaturvedi stated that since the crisis in West Asia began, there has been a consistent demand for discussion in the House, especially during the ongoing session. She suggested that an all-party meeting should have been called earlier to clarify the situation. However, the government failed to provide any explanation until now, three weeks later, when they finally decided to hold this meeting. She raised the question: what do they hope to achieve?

She noted that while the Petroleum Minister and the External Affairs Minister addressed the House, Prime Minister Modi also spoke. Yet, when it came to providing clarity, no one stepped forward. She questioned why discussions could not take place in the House and why the opposition was excluded from participating.

Chaturvedi emphasized the need to raise public issues in the House. She reminded that the public elects representatives to voice their concerns and seek solutions. Whenever accountability is demanded from the government, it tends to divert attention from critical issues.

Regarding the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Gujarat, Chaturvedi remarked that what happened in Uttarakhand is now repeating in Gujarat. She expressed that discussions with various stakeholders about the Uniform Civil Code seem politically motivated, rather than aimed at genuinely benefiting the public.

She also highlighted the recent buzz around the Women’s Reservation Bill, questioning its status. There has been no discussion in either the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha regarding this bill. This, she argued, reflects that the BJP’s policy is solely focused on advancing its agenda and securing votes.
