New Delhi, August 4: The book ‘Sangh Prayer: In the Context of the Gita’ by Dr. Markandeya Ahuja was launched on August 3, 2026, at the Vichar Vinimay Nyas auditorium in Keshav Kunj, Jhandewalan, New Delhi. Dr. Krishna Gopal, co-general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, was the chief speaker, while Swami Shri Gyananand Maharaj, a renowned Gita scholar and founder of GIO Gita, offered his blessings.
The event began with Rajneesh Jindal, managing director of Suruchi Prakashan, welcoming the guests and highlighting the literary journey of Suruchi Prakashan. He mentioned that over 600 titles on various subjects are available to readers through more than 150 bookstores across the country and online platforms.
On this occasion, author Dr. Markandeya Ahuja elaborated on the book’s creation process and its core objectives. He emphasized that the Sangh Prayer is not merely a collection of words; it embodies the Indian worldview, national consciousness, sense of duty, and spiritual values. He also noted that the book analyzes various dimensions of the Sangh Prayer in light of the Bhagavad Gita.
In his address, Dr. Krishna Gopal reflected on the tradition of Indian thought, the timeless message of the Gita, and the significance of prayer in national life. He stated that the Gita presents a new philosophy to the world, awakening individuals to their duties. He remarked that the author has attempted to evoke this sentiment through certain lines in the book, which is essential today. Just as Lord Krishna dispelled Arjuna’s confusion, this book will inspire volunteers to awaken their sense of duty and national spirit.
Swami Shri Gyananand Maharaj encouraged attendees to internalize the Gita’s message in their lives. He explained that the essence of the Sangh Prayer is inspired by the Gita’s teachings, aimed at removing the veil of ignorance from the mind. Using the example of the sun and clouds, he stated that truth always exists; it merely requires the removal of its coverings. At the end of his blessings, he led a collective prayer and wished the author and publisher well.
At the conclusion of the program, Ankur Pathak, CEO of Suruchi Prakashan, expressed gratitude to all guests and attendees. Notable figures from education, literature, spirituality, and social life, including Rajiv Tuli, chairman of Suruchi Prakashan, trustee Manmohan Singh, Sumit Maluja, and Rahul Singh, were present. Guests praised the book’s subject matter, calling it an important work for understanding Indian thought.
The event was conducted by Sampurn Bagdi, and concluded with a collective rendition of ‘Vande Mataram.’
