New Delhi, August 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an insightful quote on the social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday. He posted a verse that reads, “उद्यच्छेदेव न नमेदुद्यमो ह्येव पौरुषम्. अप्यपर्वणि भज्येत न नमत्वेव कस्यचित्॥”
This verse emphasizes that individuals should always live with self-respect, courage, and pride. True valor lies in not compromising one’s principles and values under any circumstances, but rather remaining steadfast in ideals with truth, patience, and self-esteem.
On the previous day, Monday, while sharing this quote, the Prime Minister stated, “The collective resolve and unity of the nation propel us forward. This spirit forms the strong foundation for India’s progress and prosperity.” He also shared another verse, “समानी व आकूतिः समाना हृदयानि वः. समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा वः सुसहासति॥” The meaning in Hindi is that our resolves should be uniform, and our hearts should be connected by a sense of unity, enabling us to continuously strive for societal advancement through mutual cooperation and equitable treatment.
Earlier, on August 14, the Prime Minister had shared another quote on social media. He expressed, “On the Day of Remembrance of the Horrors of Partition, I pay heartfelt tribute to all citizens who contributed immensely to the nation’s progress after enduring that dreadful period. They demonstrated how resolve can be fulfilled even in adverse circumstances. Let us further strengthen the national spirit of goodwill and unity.”
He also shared a verse, “उद्यमस्य प्रसादेन दृश्यन्ते विविधाः कलाः. कातरा एव जल्पन्ति यद् भाव्यं तद् भविष्यति॥” This translates to the idea that through hard work, enterprise, and determination, various arts, sciences, technical skills, crafts, and innovations develop, paving the way for success. Therefore, individuals should not rely solely on fate but should pursue their goals with courage, diligence, and continuous effort, as true effort shapes destiny.
