Jalgaon, August 18: The Cooperative Panel has achieved a remarkable victory in the Board of Directors elections at the Sarvodaya Educational Institution in Umberkhed, located in the Chalisgaon taluka. Out of 19 seats, they secured 15, while the rival Smriti Panel managed to win only four seats.
Voting took place on August 16, with two leading panels, headed by the incumbent Chairman Vikas Patil and Secretary Uday Singh Patil, competing against each other. Additionally, several independent candidates participated in the elections. A total of 44 candidates contested for the 19 available seats, resulting in a highly competitive atmosphere.
The voting process was conducted from 8 AM to 5 PM under the supervision of Returning Officer Deepak Pardeshi. Ten polling stations were established, where the voting proceeded peacefully.
Out of 4,471 registered voters, 4,181 cast their votes, resulting in a voter turnout of 93.51%, which is reported to be higher than in previous elections.
The counting of votes concluded around 8:30 PM on Sunday, with the results being announced shortly thereafter. Initially, results for 14 general category seats were declared, where the Cooperative Panel won 10 seats, while the Smriti Panel secured four.
Following this, results for reserved seats for women, Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Exiled categories were announced. After all results were in, the Cooperative Panel achieved a clear majority with a total of 15 seats.
The high voter turnout and the presence of 44 candidates drew significant attention from the entire taluka. Supporters of both panels were eager for the results as the counting commenced.
Once the final results were declared, supporters of the Cooperative Panel celebrated their victory. This win solidifies the Cooperative Panel’s stronghold over the Board of Directors at the Sarvodaya Educational Institution.
