
New Delhi, May 28: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid), President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their heartfelt greetings to the citizens of India. Highlighting the themes of dedication, sacrifice, and devotion associated with Bakrid, the President emphasized that this festival inspires us to serve humanity.
In a post on the official X handle of the President’s office, she stated, “On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, I extend my warm wishes to all citizens, especially to my Muslim brothers and sisters. This festival symbolizes dedication, sacrifice, and devotion. It inspires us to serve humanity, particularly the underprivileged. Let us commit ourselves to fostering love and harmony in society during this occasion.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his wishes on X, saying, “Happy Eid-ul-Azha! May this occasion deepen the spirit of brotherhood and joy in our society. I pray for the success and good health of everyone.”
Earlier, several other leaders also conveyed their Bakrid greetings through posts on X.
Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan wrote, “Bakrid brings a timeless message of sacrifice and selfless devotion. The values it nurtures should reflect in our daily lives and guide society towards humanity and compassion. May the spiritual light of our festivals empower us to face every challenge with courage and hope. Eid Mubarak to all.”
BSP Chief Mayawati expressed her wishes on X, stating, “Eid-ul-Azha, commonly known as Bakrid, brings heartfelt congratulations to all Indian Muslim brothers and sisters worldwide and wishes for a happy and prosperous life for all citizens.”
She further added, “If all festivals and celebrations are observed peacefully, with mutual harmony and brotherhood, it will always be better for the country and the public interest. This way, all energy, strength, and resources can be focused on the development of the country and the progress of its people, as seen in the BSP’s governance in Uttar Pradesh.”
RML Chief Upendra Kushwaha conveyed his wishes, saying, “Heartfelt greetings on the festival of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) to all citizens, including those in Bihar. On this occasion, we pray to God for peace, tranquility, and blessings for everyone.”
