Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to Visit Bihar on August 16-17

New Delhi, August 15: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will embark on a two-day visit to Bihar on August 16 and 17, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Election Commission of India.

The delegation includes Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Manish Garg, Director General (Media) Ashish Goyal, Director General (IT) Dr. Seema Khanna, and other senior officials from the Commission. Upon arrival at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, they will be welcomed by Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, and other senior officials.

According to the schedule, on August 17, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will engage in discussions with approximately 500 booth-level officers at Nalanda University’s Sushma Swaraj Auditorium.

Over the past year, Gyanesh Kumar has maintained regular communication with booth-level officers during visits to various states. This upcoming dialogue in Nalanda will provide a significant opportunity to discuss the experiences of booth-level officers, ground challenges, and ways to enhance the electoral process’s effectiveness and accessibility.

Another highlight of the visit will be a one-day conference on electoral literacy at Gyan Bhawan in Patna, featuring the Election Literacy Club 2.0 and ECI-NET, where the Chief Election Commissioner will serve as the chief guest. The conference is expected to attract thousands of students, teachers, university vice-chancellors, and principals from over 400 educational institutions across Bihar.

In addition to senior officials from the Election Commission, distinguished guests will include Bihar’s Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Secretaries of the Education, Health, Science and Technology, and Technical Education Departments.
