Jaipur, October 16 (Daily Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pratapgarh has achieved a major breakthrough in an ongoing corruption investigation, recovering a large quantity of gold and valuable documents from the locker of a senior government officer.

The accused, Rajeev Garg, serving as General Manager and Joint Commissioner in the Department of Industries and Commerce, was caught red-handed last year while accepting a ₹3 lakh bribe by the ACB Pratapgarh team. As part of the ongoing disproportionate assets inquiry, the bureau opened his locker at the Indian Bank, Bajaj Nagar branch, on Thursday.
According to Additional Director General of Police (ACB) Smita Srivastava, the search led to the recovery of 555.35 grams of gold—including gold biscuits and coins—worth approximately ₹72,33,240 in the market. Important documents related to his Bajaj Nagar property were also seized.
The ACB officials stated that the accused had been deliberately delaying the locker inspection, but a team successfully conducted the opening and seized the valuables.
So far, the investigation has revealed that over ₹1 crore was deposited across multiple bank accounts belonging to Garg, along with fixed deposits exceeding ₹1.20 crore.
This operation was carried out under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police, Vikram Singh Parmar, ACB Pratapgarh.
The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to continue decisive actions against corruption and maintain integrity in public service through sustained vigilance operations.
