Patna, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj and a prominent legislator, emphasized the urgent need for change in Bihar during a recent appeal to teachers and graduate voters. He urged them to vote for Jan Suraj candidates, noting that teachers and educated voters in the state are seeking improved educational systems, respect, salaries, and job opportunities.
In an interview, Kishor stated that the movement for change that began in Bankipur will not stop. He expressed confidence that the electorate will reject the government led by Samrat Chaudhary. He believes that educated voters, including teachers, will support candidates who promise betterment for Bihar. Kishor highlighted that teachers desire respect, a better education system, and the implementation of the seventh pay scale, not just for themselves but also for their peers and future generations. Jan Suraj aims to fulfill these expectations.
When asked about BJP National President Nitin Nabin’s meetings, Kishor replied that the number of meetings is less significant than the support he receives from the public. He questioned why teachers would prioritize Nabin when he failed to secure their votes. Kishor reiterated that Jan Suraj is committed to establishing the seventh pay scale for teachers and creating job opportunities for unemployed graduates in Bihar.
Kishor urged teachers to view themselves as among the most educated and enlightened voters in the state. He encouraged them to evaluate all aspects before supporting both Jan Suraj candidates, who have presented their plans and commitments to the public.
He assured teachers from all categories—whether they are distinguished educators, school teachers, contractual teachers, or principals—that Jan Suraj will advocate for their demands. Kishor pledged to take responsibility for ensuring the seventh pay scale for teachers ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He indicated that protests, hunger strikes, and even surrounding the Chief Minister’s office may be necessary if the government fails to address their demands.
He called for teachers to unite, warning that neglecting their needs could have political repercussions in the upcoming elections. Kishor stated that the victory of these candidates would symbolize more than just a win for two individuals; it would send a clear message to the BJP, NDA, and the current administration that Bihar’s teachers are in search of new options and pathways. He emphasized that if the government does not heed the teachers’ concerns, it could face significant political challenges in the Lok Sabha elections, making it imperative to pressure the government regarding the seventh pay scale and the issues facing non-funded teachers.
