Political Turmoil in Karnataka: Siddaramaiahs Resignation Sparks Controversy

New Delhi, May 29: The resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ignited a fresh political controversy. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised questions regarding the Congress leadership’s decisions.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya commented, “Siddaramaiah is engaging in detrimental politics. He aims to dismantle Congress in Karnataka. If he is no longer in power, what will Congress do? While Congress’s decisions are predictable, the BJP will soon take control there.”

BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev added, “For the past year and a half, there has been ongoing conflict. Supporters of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister are clashing. Under Congress rule, the focus is not on development but on who will remain in power. Nothing is functioning properly in Karnataka, as we witnessed during the Chief Minister’s resignation.”

JD(U) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated that Congress’s high command must clarify why Siddaramaiah was removed from his position. The current situation in Karnataka is not favorable for the public. Development is stagnant, and there is an ongoing battle for the Chief Minister’s seat.

This resignation has led to a sharp political tug-of-war between the BJP and Congress, with leaders making pointed remarks about leadership changes and their timing.

Siddaramaiah’s resignation marks a significant political event in Karnataka, following weeks of speculation about potential leadership changes within the state Congress unit. On Thursday, Siddaramaiah submitted his resignation to the Governor’s secretary at the Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, with Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and senior party leaders present, officially ending his term as Chief Minister.

This development concludes weeks of political uncertainty and internal discussions within the ruling party.
