Political Tensions Rise Over Security Cuts for RJD Leaders

Patna, June 6: The political atmosphere in Bihar is heating up following the state government’s decision to reduce security for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and Tej Pratap Yadav. In response, Rabri Devi’s brother, Prabhnath Singh Yadav, has sharply criticized the state government.

Prabhnath Singh Yadav stated that this move aims to distract the public from real issues and deteriorate the political climate. He emphasized that Rabri Devi, as Bihar’s first female Chief Minister, holds a significant place in the hearts of the people, akin to the respect given to the country’s first female IPS officer, Kiran Bedi.

Regarding the growing crowd protesting the security cuts, he noted that citizens are not being summoned; rather, they are rallying in support of their leader.

He remarked, “Why is the savior of the poor being harassed? When the public feels their leader is being treated unjustly, they naturally come forward. In the coming days, the people of Bihar will raise their voices on this issue.”

During his statements, Prabhnath Singh Yadav also targeted the BJP, claiming the government is attempting to divert attention from pressing issues like education and basic amenities. He questioned the government’s promises when schools lack sufficient teachers and the education system faces numerous challenges.

Recently, the Bihar Home Department issued an order to cut security for Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. According to the state government, this decision was based on recommendations made after a review by the state security committee.

Additionally, the ‘Y’ category security previously granted to Lalu Yadav’s elder son and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav has also been revoked.
