New Delhi, August 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a profound message on the social media platform ‘X’ on Monday. He stated, “Compassion leads to self-respect, and true happiness comes from contentment. This sentiment strengthens the bonds of cooperation and goodwill in society.”
He also shared a Sanskrit verse: “कारुण्येनात्मनो मानं तृष्णां च परितोषतः. उत्थानेन जयेत्तन्द्रीं वितर्कं निश्चयाज्जयेत्॥” The Hindi translation conveys that having compassion for others brings self-respect, and being content helps conquer desires. Through diligent effort, one can certainly overcome laziness and baseless doubts.
Earlier, on August 21, the Prime Minister had shared another insightful message. He wrote, “The continuous flow of rivers teaches us how to utilize our strengths for the betterment of humanity. This spirit of selfless service, dedication, and philanthropy gives the nation a new direction.”
In a previous post, he shared a Sanskrit verse: “जीवनं स्वं परार्थाय नित्यं यच्छत मानवाः. इति सन्देशमाख्यातुं समुद्रं यान्ति निम्नगाः॥” The Hindi meaning emphasizes that humans should dedicate their lives to the service and welfare of others. Just as rivers flow selflessly, nurturing countless beings before merging into the ocean, so too should individuals use their lives and strengths for the benefit of others. The true essence of human life lies in selfless service and public welfare.
On August 20, he shared another Sanskrit verse: “आपत्काले च कष्टेऽपि नोत्साहस्त्यज्यते बुधैः. इति प्रबोधितस्तेन कथञ्चिद् दृढबुद्धिना.” This verse highlights that wise individuals understand that one should never lose enthusiasm, even in times of crisis and difficulty.
