
Chuchou, Hunan Province, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : The fifth international summit on BeiDou applications was inaugurated on September 15 in Chuchou, Hunan Province, China. Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing delivered a keynote address during the event.
In his speech, Zhang emphasized that President Xi Jinping has stated that the BeiDou system benefits not only the people of China but also individuals worldwide. Under Xi’s leadership, the performance and service quality of the BeiDou system have significantly improved, with an expanding application landscape and scale. This development provides users globally with stable and reliable positioning, navigation, and timing services.
Zhang also noted China’s commitment to implementing four global initiatives in collaboration with various parties, maintaining openness and integration, coordination and cooperation, compatibility and complementarity, and shared outcomes. He highlighted plans to enhance the innovation level of BeiDou technology, strengthen its integration with AI and satellite internet, and promote the healthy and orderly development of the BeiDou business. Furthermore, he mentioned the aim to improve global governance in satellite navigation to better serve the world and benefit the people.
Before the opening ceremony, Zhang met with Madagascar’s Prime Minister Christian Ntsay. He expressed China’s desire to implement the agreements reached between the leaders of the two nations and the achievements from the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, aiming to bolster the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Madagascar. Ntsay reaffirmed Madagascar’s adherence to the One China policy and expressed the nation’s interest in strengthening practical cooperation with China across various sectors.
