
Kuala Lumpur, February 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Indian-origin leaders, including ministers and senators, in Malaysia on Sunday. He praised their achievements in public life.
PM Modi shared on the social media platform X, “I had a wonderful conversation with prominent PIO leaders, including well-known ministers and senators. Their deep emotional connection with India was evident. Their accomplishments in public life are a matter of pride for all.”
Earlier, PM Modi also met with veteran soldier Jayaraj Raja Rao of the Azad Hind Fauj. During this meeting, they discussed the historical contributions of soldiers and the legacy among Indians living in Southeast Asia. The Azad Hind Fauj is also known as the Indian National Army (INA).
Sharing a picture with Jayaraj Raja Rao on X, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to the INA and its founder, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
He wrote, “Meeting INA veteran Jayaraj Raja Rao was very special. His life is filled with courage and sacrifice. Listening to his experiences was truly inspiring. We will always be indebted to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the brave men and women of the INA, whose valor helped shape India’s destiny.”
PM Modi also held a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim, at the official residence, Seri Perdana. Both leaders reviewed development cooperation in various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and biotechnology, and agreed to strengthen collaboration in security, defense, technology, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors.
Regarding his meeting with PM Ibrahim, India’s Prime Minister wrote on X, “Today, I had a very productive meeting with PM Anwar Ibrahim at Seri Perdana. India and Malaysia are maritime neighbors with a long-standing friendship. We reviewed development cooperation in trade, infrastructure, energy, IT, biotechnology, and other sectors. We also agreed to enhance collaboration in security, defense, AI, digital technology, and semiconductors.”
