New Delhi, March 24: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a series of extensive raids across multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing investigation into the bomb blast that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi.
On Monday, the counter-terrorism agency conducted searches in nine locations across the districts of Srinagar, Baramulla, Jammu, Kulgam, Ganderbal, and Handwara. During these operations, several digital devices were seized and have been sent for forensic analysis.
The devastating explosion on November 10, 2025, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. The main accused, Umar Un Nabi, was also killed in the blast. Investigations revealed that Umar had conspired with arrested co-accused and others to orchestrate the attack.
The NIA is diligently working to uncover the conspiracy behind this terrorist attack and to identify others involved in creating chaos and instability within the country.
Additionally, on March 13, the Patiala House Court extended the judicial custody of the accused in the blast near the Red Fort Metro Station—Dr. Shaheen, Mufti Irfan Ahmed, Jaseer Bilal Wani, Dr. Adil Ahmed, Mujammil, and Yasir Ahmed Dar—by 15 days. For security reasons, all accused were presented in NIA court via video conferencing.
The NIA informed the court that more time is needed to gather further evidence and interrogate the accused, necessitating the extension of their judicial custody for a thorough investigation.
On February 25, two additional suspects were arrested for evading the NIA by frequently changing their locations. They were identified as Jameer Ahmed Ahangar from Ganderbal and Tufail Ahmed Bhat from Srinagar.
The NIA is conducting an in-depth investigation aimed at exposing the entire conspiracy behind this cowardly terrorist attack. According to the agency, Jameer Ahmed and Tufail Ahmed were active over-ground workers (OGWs) for the banned terrorist organization Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH).
