New Delhi, July 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a sub-registrar from Punjabi Bagh in Nangloi, along with a private individual, in connection with a bribery case.
On July 17, 2026, the CBI registered a case based on a complaint alleging that the sub-registrar demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees to execute a property gift deed.
The CBI set a trap on July 17, catching the sub-registrar and the private individual red-handed as they solicited and accepted an 80,000 rupee bribe from the complainant. Both suspects have been taken into custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
The CBI’s stringent action against corrupt public officials underscores its firm commitment to combating corruption.
