New Delhi, July 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Skyroot Aerospace team following the successful launch of Vikram-1. Speaking to the team via phone from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, PM Modi described this achievement as a significant milestone in the “Mission Agniban.” He emphasized that this journey is just beginning.
During the conversation, PM Modi expressed his joy, stating, “First of all, congratulations to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team. I am thrilled about this success. I watched the entire launch program, and your team looks youthful, which adds to my happiness.”
He noted the initial concerns on their faces, but remarked on the shift to a joyful atmosphere. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and your team for this crucial decision and success,” he added.
PM Modi reflected on the initial skepticism surrounding the privatization of the space sector. “When we aimed to privatize the space sector, there were many fears. However, I pressed on, and your success has validated my decision. My team acknowledges that we must trust our youth and provide them with opportunities, which you have demonstrated through your work. This is ‘Mission Agniban,’ and we must continue to advance.”
Skyroot Aerospace co-founder Naga Bharat Daka informed PM Modi that the card he sent has successfully reached space. “The ‘Vande Mataram’ you sent is now in orbit,” he said.
Expressing his delight, PM Modi remarked, “Initially, I thought of writing just ‘Vande Mataram.’ There were two reasons for this. Our nation is celebrating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram,’ and I wanted to commemorate it in a new way. ‘Vande Mataram’ has always inspired our youth to live and die for the country. Today, it empowers us to live for our nation. You have embodied this spirit.”
He described the mission as a way to elevate the dignity of Mother India, provide the new generation with technological benefits, and inspire them to engage with technology. “I wanted to express my feelings succinctly with just ‘Vande Mataram.’ I am pleased that this success is also taking the essence of ‘Vande Mataram’ to new heights,” he stated.
PM Modi addressed the skepticism surrounding the concept of a self-reliant India, saying, “When I spoke of self-reliant India, some mocked it in ignorance. Today, you have proven that we can also be self-reliant in this field. You have demonstrated that capability. I believe the evidence is before us, thanks to your team.”
During the conversation, PM Modi invited the Skyroot team for a meeting soon. Reiterating his congratulations, he encouraged them, saying, “Keep moving forward. I am fully with you.”
