Four Arrested in Former MLA Attar Singh Bhadhana Murder Case in Rajasthan

Bharatpur, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Police in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of former MLA Attar Singh Bhadhana. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhagmal Gurjar, Soni Gurjar, Sher Singh Gurjar, and Kunwar Singh Gurjar.

Reports indicate that three of the suspects are residents of Bhonda village, while the fourth hails from Nawar village. Tension has gripped the area following the former legislator’s death, prompting police to detain several individuals for questioning as part of their investigation.

In light of the arrests, many residents of Bhonda have reportedly locked their homes and temporarily left the village. Authorities are under increasing pressure to ensure justice is served in this high-profile case.

Bhadhana’s wife, Kamlesh Bhadhana, filed a complaint at the Vair police station, naming 30 individuals and implicating an additional 50 to 60 unidentified persons in the incident.

The murder appears to be linked to ongoing disputes over mining leases and the operations of a crusher site. According to Kamlesh Bhadhana’s complaint, a violent altercation occurred the day before her husband’s death involving individuals connected to the mining lease and crusher operations.

A case was registered at the police station regarding that earlier conflict. The following day, a large group allegedly attacked the mining complex, resulting in the former MLA’s fatal injuries.

The complaint alleges that approximately 70 to 80 individuals stormed the mining lease and crusher premises, engaging in violence, stone-pelting, gunfire, and arson. It is claimed that the attackers aimed to destroy the crusher unit. During this assault, Bhadhana was reportedly assaulted, suffering severe injuries, including broken limbs and a blow to the head with a “gandasa,” a heavy agricultural tool.

He sustained critical injuries and was referred to Jaipur for further treatment, but succumbed to his injuries en route. These allegations are part of the ongoing investigation.

Following the arrests, the focus will now shift to determining the suspects’ roles and whether others were involved in this tragic incident.
