Chandigarh, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh has officially announced the recruitment of 243 Nursing Officer positions, categorized under Group ‘B’.
The vacancies include 99 for General candidates, 36 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 18 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 66 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 24 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The online application process commenced on September 10, 2026, and will remain open until October 3, 2026. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the official PGIMER website before the deadline.
To be eligible, applicants must possess a B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing or a regular B.Sc. Nursing degree from a recognized university or institution, or a Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing qualification. They should also hold a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized board or council, be registered as a nurse with the State Nursing Council, and have at least one year of experience in a hospital with a minimum of 50 beds.
Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age, with age calculations based on the application submission deadline. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection will be based on application scrutiny, shortlisting, an online computer-based test (CBT), interviews, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400, along with additional benefits and allowances.
When filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online. The fee is set at ₹1,500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹800 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates with benchmark disabilities will be exempt from the registration fee.
