Mumbai, May 28: Actor-director Peter Wilson is set to star in the upcoming psychological thriller film titled “Obsess.” Notably, Peter not only directed the film but also plays a leading role, a challenge he describes as quite demanding.
In an interview, Peter shared his experiences and the hurdles he faced during the filmmaking process. He stated, “It was extremely challenging because acting and directing are completely different tasks. You cannot blend the two. As a director, you must constantly think about what the entire film needs, while as an actor, your focus is solely on your character. Both responsibilities presented significant challenges, but I am confident that the audience will appreciate our work.”
Regarding his choice of a psychological thriller, he expressed his desire to explore unique narratives. He remarked, “‘Obsess’ is experimental cinema for me, offering viewers a fresh experience. It is a thriller that portrays human emotions in a very distinctive manner.”
When discussing his co-star, Peter emphasized the importance of character development within the story. “For this film, I needed an actor with a strong understanding of theater, someone who could portray the character naturally. Esha did this beautifully,” he noted.
In today’s landscape, actors face immense pressure from public relations and social media. Peter clarified, “Without talent, nothing lasts long in this industry. You might land a project or two due to popularity, but ultimately, audiences will judge you based on your work and skills. While PR and social media can support you, the true foundation of an artist’s career is their talent.”
