Pawan Kalyan Criticizes Opposition for Blocking Womens Reservation Bill

Mumbai, April 18: Renowned South Indian actor and founder of the Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan, expressed deep disappointment over the failure to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill amendment.

The actor has harshly criticized the opposition, accusing them of depriving women of their rights for political gain. He has also openly praised Prime Minister Modi’s women-centric policies and expressed his support for them.

Pawan Kalyan targeted the opposition on the social media platform X, claiming they deliberately obstructed the passage of the bill. He wrote, “A historic opportunity to strengthen women’s representation in India’s assemblies has been intentionally blocked by the opposition. Their stance clearly indicates a lack of intent to support transformative reforms that empower women and strengthen India’s democracy.”

He further stated that the opposition has once again demonstrated that political gain takes precedence over national progress, ultimately harming women’s rights. He added, “Supporting this historic reform would show a collective commitment to empowering women and reinforcing democratic values. As an NDA ally, the Jana Sena Party wholeheartedly welcomes and appreciates the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who presented this crucial bill in Parliament. Had this bill been passed, it would have marked a defining moment of pride and progress for millions of women across the country.”

It is noteworthy that the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill required a two-thirds majority to pass. The bill received 298 votes in favor and 230 against, falling short of the majority needed. Following the bill’s failure, discussions have erupted across political corridors and social media platforms.
