Uttarakhands Char Dham Yatra Begins with Strong Preparations for Pilgrims

Rishikesh, April 18: The Uttarakhand government has made extensive preparations for one of the holiest pilgrimages in Sanatan Dharma, the Char Dham Yatra. Today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the pilgrimage at the Char Dham Yatra transit camp. During the event, the CM greeted pilgrims and flagged off their journeys.

Offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra commenced last Friday, attracting a large number of devotees on the first day. A total of 2,713 pilgrims registered offline, with 683 for Yamunotri, 690 for Gangotri, 667 for Kedarnath, and 673 for Badrinath. Online registration had already started on March 6.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Dhami inspected the transit camp, which features over 30 counters for offline registration. The camp is equipped with health facilities and medication, ensuring that all pilgrims are well taken care of. Many devotees expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements made by the state government for the Char Dham Yatra.

The Char Dham Yatra officially begins on April 19, with the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri opening on Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Kedarnath will open on April 22, followed by Badrinath on April 23. Preparations for the opening of the temples, including floral decorations, have been underway for some time, and security measures are in place to ensure a safe experience for all.

On Sunday, the doors of both sacred shrines will open, offering devotees the opportunity to seek blessings from Goddess Ganga and Yamuna. The pilgrimage starts from Haridwar or Rishikesh, proceeding to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally Badrinath. Currently, the weather in the mountains is quite cold, prompting robust arrangements for the comfort of the pilgrims at these four sacred sites.
