The 77th Republic Day celebrations will conclude with the grand Beating Retreat ceremony, set to fill Vijay Chowk with patriotic melodies and Indian tunes.

Scheduled for January 29 at Vijay Chowk, the event will be a magnificent display featuring bands from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces performing stirring and patriotism-filled music.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, other Union ministers, senior officials, and the general public will attend the ceremony. The program will commence with the famous mass band tune “Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja”. Following this, the Pipes and Drums band will perform compositions such as “Atulya Bharat,” “Veer Sainik,” “Mili-Juli,” “Nritya Sarita,” “Maruni,” and “Jhelum”. The Central Armed Police Forces band will energize the crowd with tunes like “Vijay Bharat,” “Hathrohi,” “Jai Ho,” and “Veer Sipahi”.

The Indian Air Force band will present pieces including “Brave Warrior,” “Twilight,” “Alert,” and “Flying Star,” while the Navy band will showcase “Namaste,” “Sagar Pawan,” “Matrubhumi,” “Tejasvi,” and “Jai Bharati”. Subsequently, the Indian Army band will captivate the audience with inspiring tunes such as “Vijayi Bharat,” “Arambh Hai Prachand Hai,” “Ae Watan, Ae Watan,” “Anand Math,” “Sugamya Bharat,” and “Sitare Hind”. The ceremony will conclude with the mass band performing “India Ki Shaan,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Drummers Call”. As customary, the popular tune “Sare Jahan Se Achha” will be played by the buglers to end the event on a high note.

Squadron Leader Lamapokpam Rupchandra Singh will serve as the chief conductor for the ceremony. Separate conductors will lead the bands from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Forces. A unique feature this year is that the seating arrangements at Vijay Chowk have been named after Indian musical instruments such as Bansuri, Tabla, Sitar, Veena, Shehnai, Mridangam, Sarod, and Santoor, enhancing the musical ambiance.

Overall, the Beating Retreat ceremony will be a splendid convergence of music, discipline, and patriotism, marking a fitting end to the Republic Day festivities.
